Getting the Lead Out

I’m tempted to post the same generic crap that most others do in a situation such as this: “I’ve been busy.” But in truth that would be a bit of an understatement so instead I’ll list what’s waiting in the wings and a few things that bug me in the web world as of late. Chew what you will.

So, in the drafts area are two blog posts coming to fruition that I’m hoping to post up in rapid succession and return to a normal (nearly-weekly) posting schedule. I also have a personal project that’s been in the works since I last posted, which is also getting ready to see the light, and I’ll probably proclaim its coming as soon as I can set a date with myself.

Edit: Now that it has launched, you can read about this project here, or visit the project in question, Typesites.

In the meantime, I’ve stumbled or been beaten over the head with a few things lately while browsing the web:

But all is not gloom and doom, there are some relatively brilliant things being done. I just like to focus on negatives from time to time.

In any case, I just wanted to let it out that I’m not dead (yet); there’s more to come soon, cheers.

  1. Welcome back Kyle! It was good to see a new entry in my rss reader!

Thanks for linking to the Volll website, that is a pretty awesome site. And what do you know, you can actually make nice scenic animations without flash! (apart from the “very new” icon of course)… Who would have thunk it!

  2. Hey, thanks for linking us!

As the designer/sitebuilder of this site I had the preference to create a site which is appaeling to average users and to the web designer scene. That’s why we choose not to do it entirely in flash, or to make it one long page instead of cutting it up to sections, or using a lot of marketing BS, because we had enough seeing the same concepts and phrases over and over. We wanted to make a site in a way others wouldn’t :)

And we’re really glad that you like it :)

  3. Good to see a new post this morning, mate - it’s been too long! And as I have some ‘inside knowledge’ - as it were - about your forthcoming personal project, I can’t wait to see it live!

  4. Hi Kyle,
Nice blog you have here. Brilliant layout.
Thanks for posting about my website, i always love to get feedback on my work…even when it’s about being part of the “negatives”!

  5. Admit it. You’re clearly burning me on my first post of the year. :)
