@Everyone: Thanks for the well wishings. Also, Sugarfree Red Bull is my personal energy drink of choice. Never was much of the coffee type.

@An Unreliable Witness: I agree, it’s a beautiful typeface, and the design that I’ve been working actually forgoes it entirely. In fact, with the exception of blockquotes, its completely sans-serif!

As a great admirer of this design - it was one that was very much in the back of my mind when I was doing root and branch hacking from the ground up to my recently installed theme - I reluctantly have to agree with you about Palatino (especially as someone who is short-sighted). I wanted to use it for my body copy, but in the end went with it for titles only, returning to an old favourite of sans serif Lucida Grande / Lucida Unicode for the majority of the text. It was rather a wrench, but I’m glad I did.

I look forward to seeing what changes you introduce.

I love what I’ve seen so far and I’m sure the final product will be even better. Good luck with coding and try not to swear too much.

By the way, you’re all crazy. The order of energy drinks as established by the gods is quite clear. Full Throttle, Red Bull, Monster Chaos, Rockstar, Amp, Red Bull Sugar Free, all other Monsters.

I don’t have any complaints about the legibility of Palatino, but I can see why it might be an issue depending on screen resolution. However, I have to say that Rockstar works much better than Red Bull, despite it’s radioactive color and taste. Your mileage may vary.

I look forward to see what you come up with, on the 14th. Good luck on the fixing up of the code and design. Sometimes, you just gotta do what you gotta do. I’d definitely like to see more content coming from you, especially since it’ll be easier, organizationally.

Another issue is the body copy, Palatino doesn’t work well at small sizes, and though most people haven’t complained, I find myself annoyed by it at times lately. The last thing I want to do is be inhibiting the readability of the content; it’s the most important thing!

Very good idea, indeed! I often wondered why you’ve chosen a font which makes for a subpar screen reading experience.
